What a fantastic trip! Thank you for sharing and the photos. Thank you too for hosting the Slater/Bright BBQ again this year and for being a part of Team Dianne at the Race for the Cure. Life is meant to be lived, and you do so with gusto. You are amazing.

Dad and I are glad you enjoyed your trip. It was a small price to pay if it gave you some relief. We always want to help our children as much as we love them. We don’t see them as much as we would like, but I think that is good too. You won’t get so tired of us. Sometimes we think of things we should or could have done to make being with us easier. I know we say too much and make you all feel like we are criticizing, when we are attempting to show how deeply we feel. Also, how much we are at a loss to make you feel better. But this isn’t about us now. Just know we do and always will love you and your brothers until the day we die.

A month late, but I am glad to see some of your “brightness” coming through in your writings. At those times in my own life that mirror the tragedies in yours, Hebrews 11 has always been a good starting point for the long road to rebounding.

JoDana,
You are in my prayers and covered with God’s love. He will see you through this and will hem your heart. I know because He has hemmed my heart several times, even when it seemed it was torn beyond repair. Can you tell I am a seamstress? I do not know what else to say, but hang in there you will make it. Just take one moment at a time, one step at a time until you can walk/run. Make sure that you take good care of YOU, plenty of rest and water. Have that cup of tea that you like with some nice praise music going. Remember that you are special to me, a good friend. You are loved. (((HUGS)))

your uncle leon sounds like a jewel. i hope that the friends and family who KNOW you and understand the complexities of such an event will forever be at your side. your daughter is young and hurting and so has chosen to hurt you by her choices. i will pray for her as well. perhaps your strength and unconditional love for your husband AND for her will some day make sense to her – i pray for God to change her heart. much, much love. stay brave, jan

JoDana, again, I am profoundly moved by your words. You are the very definition of strength and love. I too have faced my life through it’s hard lessons. The burden must be managed. A book that helped me put it together is “A New Earth” by Ekhart Tolle. I can not say enough about how much it profoundly helped me. Thank you for sharing your journey. My love to you.
